2018 NFL Draft

The 2018 NFL draft has come and gone and now it’s time to take a look at teams that are sitting the best after 256 picks. One of the teams that performed the best in the draft was the New York Giants. GM Dave Gettleman picked up Penn State RB Saquon Barkley who will have a major impact on the team along with G Will Hernandez and an OLB Lorenzo Carter, combined will make for an impressive offensive line. The Atlanta Falcons were looking to double down on an already impressive roster with GM Thomas Dimitroff picking up WR Calvin Ridley and CB Isaiah Oliver will both have significant impacts on the team’s future. The Chicago Bears picked up some very talented players which includes possibly one of the draft’s best linebackers, Georgia’s Roquan Smith. Also nabbing a great center, Iowa’s James Daniels. All three of these teams are going to have great seasons next year and compete for a chance to play in Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta.

Winter Olympics Results

As the 23rd Winter Olympic games have come to an end, there are many amazing moments to look back on. The U.S. finished the competition with 23 medals which put them in 4th place behind Canada (29), Germany (31), and Norway (39). In women’s snowboarding halfpipe, 17-year-old Chloe Kim took home the gold for the U.S.A. after landing back-to-back 1080s, a first in women’s Olympic history. Shaun White pulled off an amazing run in halfpipe to score his third Olympic gold medal. The U.S. women’s Hockey team beat longtime rival Canada in an overtime shootout to win gold, ending a 20-year medal drought. The biggest shocker of the Olympics was the first ever gold for the U.S. Men’s Curling team after beating top-ranked Sweden. Although this wasn’t one of the best Olympic Games for the U.S, it definitely had its fair share of memorable moments.

Michael Bauman

Coming into the swim season, freshman Michael Bauman had no idea the amount of dedication he would have to put into the team. But he is still getting used to things and is preparing to do well in the beginning of the season.

Bauman has been swimming for eight years. Bauman first started swimming in DCAC because it was interesting “But most importantly to meet chicks”.

Bauman has added to the team chemistry by bringing hard work and determination to the pool, and a fun personality out of the pool.

The new Little Caesars Arena vs Joe Louis Arena

By Michael Waltz

Little Caesars Arena in Detroit is the newest and second largest ice hockey arena in the world. It will not only be the new home for the Detroit Red Wings but also for the Pistons basketball team.

So how will it compare to Joe Louis Arena? Will it have the same feeling of excitement and intensity? Will we still be Hockeytown? These are questions many people are asking themselves.

Here’s my take on the new arena.
