This June 4th, a new fast food chain, Culver’s, will be opening up a new restaurant on Jackson road near Lowes.
Culver’s is a Wisconsin based fast food chain that operates out of the mid-west and specializes in Butterburgers and frozen custards.
Culver’s raves that their burgers, called butterburgers, are different from other burgers. Their Butterburgers are made from fresh, never frozen, choice ground beef that are blended on toasted Kaiser buns and where the crown of the bun is lightly buttered and toasted.
Since Culver’s is new to the area, they are looking to hire 65 part time employees to start working over the summer according to manager, Karen Richard.
“I’m thinking about applying there soon, it seems like an interesting place,” junior Michael Hauke said. “Even though I already have a job somewhere else right now, I want another one so I can make more money”.
The owner, Karen Richards, purchased a bit of land on a piece of property owned by Lowe’s for $700,000 in December in hopes of opening a Culver’s in the Ann Arbor area. Richards, also is a manager of a Culver’s in Jackson.
The construction of the restaurant began in February and thanks to the nice weather, the construction crew is three weeks ahead of schedule.
Everything is done from the parking lot, the foundation to the walls. The only remaining thing to finish is the interior designing.
The restaurant will hold its soft opening on June 4th without any public fanfare or announcements, but will hold its grand opening on June 12th where Culver’s CEO Craig Culver will be the present.
