For me, the shower is the opposite of school: the difference, of course, being that all of my thinking goes on in one of the places, and in the other, I slowly lose brain cells as I slip into unconsciousness.
Every morning, my body drags my mind into the shower, where my day begins. I know I am not the only one who has had countless epiphanies, invention ideas, fantasies, etc. in that so-called fountain of inspiration. It is hard to tell why my brain enjoys the shower so much. Perhaps it is the humidity, warmth, the white noise, or my naked, dripping body.
I want to take advantage of this popular phenomenon by holding an annual SMIS (smart men in shower) meeting. I believe most of the world’s problems can be solved with the addition of these meetings to government, law, and many other facets of life.
I have attempted to hold these meetings in locker rooms with little success. I think it needs to be tried on a larger scale and with more intelligent people. So I am extending an open invitation to anyone who is willing to get wet and wise.
