Dexter schools show their support for Earth Day

Trees that were donated from Lodi Farms were planted at every school on Earth Day, Sunday, April 22. Students at Creekside School celebrated Earth Day Friday, April 20.

According to sixth grade teacher, Beverly Hill, the sixth grade Go Green class prepared an assembly for all sixth grade students. Student prepared videos and aPowerPoint to show how and why recycling is important and facts on the importance and ways to save the Earth

Also Creekside students held a Trashion Show with clothing they prepared out of recycled material. After the assembly students decorated their classroom door and each class made an animal out of recycled material.

To close the celebration a tree was planted. Dan Riddle did a presentation on the importance of trees.

The students named the Creekside tree Dexter and then sang Happy Birthday to Dexter to welcome the tree to its new home.
